The importance of wealth. Let’s think about that for a moment. What does that mean to you? That’s something that’s constantly evolving to me.

I know what I thought about wealth 10 years ago is not the same way I think about wealth now. I mean, most of you know about me and my history of having a brain tumor. What I thought about wealth and what wealth could do for me, is totally different from what I think today about wealth and what wealth actually embodies. To me, wealth embodies freedom. It represents the freedom to allow me to spend time with my children, it’s the freedom that allows me to constantly develop programs like the Multifamily Matrix to where I can invest my time without having to look over my shoulder or look at my watch. So for me, it really means the freedom to be able to do what I want, when I want, how I want.

As you embark on your wealth-building journey, you’re going to grow, you’re going to mature, and your thoughts are going to change.

At the end of the day, it also means that being a servant and being able to build wealth to be able to help others. I think about that more. 10 years ago I thought about what wealth can give me; cars, material, things, houses, and those things are fine. If you’re there right now and that’s your mentality, that’s fine. As you embark on your wealth-building journey, you’re going to grow, you’re going to mature, and your thoughts are going to change. The goal for me when working with investors is to help you not only understand where you are and your conceptual idea about wealth now, but to help you evolve in your thinking about wealth and how wealth can actually help you now, and what wealth is going to do for you in the near future.

Let’s do it right now. Stop for a moment and think about wealth building and what wealth means to you.

No matter how successful I was in the past, at the end of the day when I had to rebuild and start over from scratch after having that brain tumor, I literally had to start over from scratch.

You might be thinking to yourself, “Bryan, that sounds good. At the end of the day, you have an opportunity, you have a brand. You have all these things. You’re able to build wealth. You’re able to rebuild wealth after coming back from a devastating brain tumor.” What a lot of people don’t know about my personal story is that yeah, I had a brain tumor, but I actually was wiped out financially. I had to start over. So I understand what it’s like. I understand what it’s like to struggle to build your credit back up. I understand what it’s like to be able to try to figure out how to pay the next month’s bills. I understand what it’s like to struggle at the end of the day. No matter how successful I was in the past, at the end of the day when I had to rebuild and start over from scratch after having that brain tumor, I literally had to start over from scratch.

I may not be where I want to be at the end of the day, and that’s fine because sometimes, success is seasonal.

And I don’t think a lot of people really understand the debt and how far behind I was. And not only my bills, but my brand, my business. I mean, it seemed like, within that four year time period, the world had caught up with me and passed me by. So I understand what it’s like to struggle. So you might be sitting here thinking, “Hey man, I’m down to my last few dollars. I’ve maxed out my credit cards trying to survive.” Hopefully you didn’t max out your credit card. But at the end of the day, it’s all about, “Hey, where am I now? And I may not be where I want to be at the end of the day, and that’s fine because sometimes, success is seasonal.” And also you have to realize that if you’re in a season right now where you’re struggling, that this is an opportunity for you to do exactly what you’re doing now to sharpen your tools.

I may not be where I want to be at the end of the day, and that’s fine because sometimes, success is seasonal.

So I know for me personally, when I struggled, I had to get into a mindset of, “Okay, if this is where I am and I feel like things have either passed me by or I’m in this holding pattern with my finances and my success as a brand, then what can I be doing day to day until things pick back up until I exit this season? What can I be doing day to day to help me get to the next level?” Because sometimes when you’re in a holding pattern, there’s a reason why you’re in that holding pattern because you’re not ready mentally to go to the next level.

I say that you’re in the perfect place right now.

So if you’re struggling and you’re trying to figure out how to make your opportunity happen, if you’ve got bad credit, you’ve just lost your job, you’re a single parent, I don’t care what the issue is, you’re in the right place. And what myself and my students in the Multifamily Matrix are going to do is we’re going to help you sharpen your tools because iron sharpens iron.
